“Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”

There’s a wonderful promise Jesus gives here of revealing Himself to those who will love Him and live for Him. He states that the evidence that proves that we love Him is that we will hear His commands and obey Him. Every day there is a test of our submission to His will and our willingness to be dependent on His direction for our lives. When we live independently of His will, we lose out on knowing Him intimately.

This verse clearly shows us that there is a close intimate relationship we can have with Jesus if we’ll humble ourselves and obey Him.

I know I need God’s wisdom and direction for so many things in my life right now. So it is very important that I stay close to the heart of God. I love Him and yet there are times when I find myself living independently of His will. It’s my nature to live independently and not submit to His will. I need to come each day and submit myself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

I want to demonstrate my love for Him as I listen for His voice and obey Him carefully. The promise is that He will be faithful to reveal Himself to me in relevant ways that will help me with every issue of my life.

Thank You, Lord Jesus for revealing yourself to me this day, as I follow You and obey You. I humble myself before you to walk in your love and to obey You wholeheartedly. Fill me with your Holy Spirit that I may hear from You and fulfill your will for my life.
