"I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."

The glory that Jesus has given every believer involves embracing the very presence and power of the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit empowers us to let Christ live in us and share this divine love with one another in growing fellowship.

The world needs to see the evidence of God’s love in His people. As God’s people live in complete unity, the world will see the attractiveness of Jesus heart and love in all we do and say. The heart of God the Father is that people would come to Him and accept the saving grace that Jesus died on the cross to give us.

My heart breaks for people who find themselves at odds with one another, be it a marriage, classmate or parents and children. Jesus died on the cross for the purpose of bringing reconciliation between us and God and between each other. Discipleship and mentoring younger believers involves challenging them to live and walk in unity in their most important relationships.

I am reminded here to make sure I’m doing everything I can to facilitate true forgiveness through prayer, encouragement and sometimes confrontation. For my own effectiveness, I need to make sure that I am sensitive to the needs of my wife and children and the people I work with. My oneness with others is so important in being a living witness of God’s love.

Thank You, Lord, for giving your glory to me through the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus come fill me with your Spirit and help me to let You live in me. Give me opportunities to show your love to a world that desperately needs You. Help me to be a minister of reconciliation and show me if I need to reach out to some who may have been estranged in relationships. Show me how I can lead people to greater unity in your family.
