Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

This is an invitation from Jesus to come to Him and allow Him to bring loving discipline and correction to our lives. He loves us enough to confront us about what is damaging to our lives. Repentance is truly Good News because we’re able to step away from the darkness and damage of sin and step into the Light.

This place of living in His Light means fellowship and friendship with the Creator. He knows us better than we know ourselves and He knows what’s best for us. Jesus longs to come into our lives and our hearts and have fellowship and intimacy with us. It’s the kind of relationship where He wants to guide us in the best possible life and He wants to encourage us so that we can encourage others. The God of Heaven is giving us an invitation for relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. It is well worth it to respond and open the door of our hearts to Him. It’s the most important decision we’ll ever make our whole lifetime – to receive Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. But we need to make a daily decision to open our hearts to Him and the leading of His Spirit so that we can walk in this Light.

I am inspired to open the door of my heart to Jesus in a new way. I am moved to think of Him more often and to engage in conversation with Him more often through the day. He invites me into relationship with Him and this will mean that as I listen to His voice, He will help me to be a servant for Him each day.

He will help me to look beyond my own concerns and empower me to look out for the interests of others. He is pleased when I allow Him to live His life in me. Christ in me is the hope of His glory and kindness expressed through me and the key to effectively living for Him.

Thank You, Heavenly Father for giving me the mind of Christ and helping me to open my heart to You. Lord Jesus, I open the door of my heart to You today. Help me to be mindful of your presence and help me to hear your voice today. Come fill me you’re your Holy Spirit that I may stay in step with You and effectively walk in your Spirit. Help me to see that the greatest joy is living in your presence and inspiring others to live and walk with You.
