How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Jesus shed His blood so that we could be forgiven of our sin, cleansed from the past and transformed into people who demonstrate His love to the world. So many people feel disqualified from ministry and unworthy of service to the Lord. But none of us are worthy in and of ourselves to serve Him. That’s why Jesus came to die for us.

He makes us holy and worthy because of what He did for us in dying on the cross for our sins and bringing to us the full work of Salvation. If we do not allow Him to cleanse our conscience and our lives, then we’ll not be able to serve Him effectively. There is a power and authority that comes to the life that is surrendered to the Lord Jesus and constantly submitting to His faithful cleansing in their life.

I want to serve God with a clean and clear conscience. There is a powerful anointing and touch of God’s Spirit on my life when I surrender to His will and let Him into every area of my life. I know I need to take time to be in His presence so that when He speaks to me, I will follow and obey and become fruitful for the kingdom.

Thank you, Lord Jesus for coming to die for me and all humankind. I welcome your cleansing power in my life to purify me and make me effective for your kingdom. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and help me to be sensitive to the impressions of the Spirit so that I’ll know how you’re directing me to live. Help me to recognize when something’s not right in my life, help me to turn from sin and turn to You and your saving power.
