From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.

John writes that grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. This word, grace is much larger than receiving God’s unmerited favor. It is true that we can be forever grateful for His forgiving grace and the gift of eternal life that is only found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. But this grace speaks of all of God’s power that energizes us to become a visible expression of God’s presence through letting Jesus live in us and through us.
The fullness of His grace speaks of all the gifts of His Spirit that have been made available to the believer. Gifts of healing, miracles, faith and wisdom are all a part of this fullness. All that we need to continue the life and ministry of Jesus has been made available to us in what John is saying: From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. It is our responsibility to embrace a life of drawing close to God and daily being filled with this grace and His Word so that we are fully equipped to be the visible presence of Jesus in our world. It is a great promise and a high calling, but there are incredible rewards for those who will decide to let Jesus live His life in us and through us.

I am so blessed with a ministry of pastoring people, teaching the Word of God and challenging many to step into a life of commitment to our Savior. It is not an easy thing to give up your life for the sake of the cross of Jesus Christ. But it is an incredible adventure that is filled with heaven’s power as I walk in His Spirit and choose to be an instrument of healing for many.
My heart is to walk worthy of this calling we have received and to accurately represent my Lord and Savior to people who need Him desperately. A life that submits to the fullness of His grace each day is a life that is surrendered to Him in prayer, in His Word and in careful obedience to His will. I am highly motivated these days to embrace all of this for the purpose of representing my Lord well.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You, for sending your Son, Jesus to die for all of humankind. Thank You for making available to me the fullness of your grace. Come Lord Jesus and overflow me with your love and grace. Fill me with your Spirit so that I can be a visible expression of your presence to the world. Help me to challenge the people I pastor to be filled with the fullness of your grace which has the potential to transform so many lives.
