My Help Comes From the Lord

Pastor Dan Johnson

CRIPTURE

 My help comes from the LORD,
       the Maker of heaven and earth.

 He will not let your foot slip—
       he who watches over you will not slumber;

 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
       will neither slumber nor sleep.

 The LORD watches over you—
       the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
       he will watch over your life;

 The LORD will watch over your coming and going
       both now and forevermore.

Psalm 121: 2-5, 7-8

BSERVATION

Regardless of what we go through in life, the Lord is always with us and is watching over us. I’m sure there are many who may say based on their experience that God has abandoned them. But His word is true, and when we trust God, and honor Him with our lives, we can be confident that God never sleeps nor slumbers. He is always watching over us and cares for us deeply.

He never tires of hearing our prayers. It is important to keep coming to Him in prayer even in the darkest moments of our lives. We can be confident that God is with us and that He is always there to comfort us if we’ll reach out to Him and embrace His presence.

PPLICATION

I am pastoring some people right now who are going through some very difficult challenges. We all get discouraged at times, and in these days I’m finding that it’s so important to keep coming to God in prayer. He knows all things and nothing escapes His attention.

My confidence comes from knowing that God will honor my prayers and my efforts to do my best in following Him and doing His will. He is faithful to minister, to comfort and to accomplish His purposes even when I am mindful of my own imperfections. I take courage in the fact that He never sleeps, He never slumbers, and He never tires of hearing our prayers. He will watch over me and keep me from harm. He will protect me and lead me in the way I need to go.

RAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for hearing my prayers. I am so grateful for your faithfulness to watch over me and give me your wisdom. Help me as I minister to people who are going through some tough challenges in life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and help me to speak words of life and encouragement to your people. Help me to remember that You are always with me and ready to help me with every challenge I face.
