“God with Us”

Pastor Dan Johnson

CRIPTURE

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”

Matthew 1:22-23

BSERVATION

These words follow the account of Joseph’s dream where an angel appears to him and declares that Mary has conceived by a miracle of the Holy Spirit.

This great promise of the meaning of ‘Immanuel’ – God with us – gives every one of us the opportunity to embrace His constant blessing and presence if we’ll respond to the Lord Jesus and receive Him as our Lord and Savior. Through a relationship with Jesus Christ, God will be with you in the good times and the difficult times. To live in His presence is to be free from loneliness and to embrace the presence of the living God in a dynamic and relevant way. He cares for everything we’re going through and He has answers for us if we’ll tune our voices to hear him speak to us.

PPLICATION

I am inspired by these words to embrace the living presence of Jesus Christ in my life. He is truly with me, and as I live each day, I am blessed to know that He cares for everything that I’m going through. God is with us in the good times and with us in the bad times.

If I can apply myself to listening to God’s voice carefully and following Him, I will experience His presence and His wisdom in all the decisions I need to make. He is with me in the middle of financial challenges and He is with me in the middle of tough times. He is with me at all times and I can trust Him with my life. He is with me when I share with people who are still searching for the truth that is only found in Jesus Christ. He is with me when I teach His word to His people. He is so faithful to be there and encourage me in doing the right thing.

RAYER

Father God, thank You for sending “Immanuel’ to be with us. Thank You, Jesus for always being here with me. I embrace your presence today in my life. Help me to honor you in all things. Help me to honor You as I live for You and follow You with all my life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I will be sensitive to your voice and the prompting of your Holy Spirit each day.
