Scripture

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

                                                                      Acts 3: 16

Observation

Peter speaks plainly about the fact that it is through faith in Jesus that this man was miraculously healed. It is a simple but powerful lesson for us that as we put our faith in Jesus, He cares so much for us, that He will give us answers and healing and provision for us today. Physical healing is one of those difficult subjects that we don’t always understand because sometimes we don’t get answers from the Lord right away. It will be an age old question that will be answered when we get to heaven: why did some people get healed quickly and for others there was delay?

But we do need to trust that in any and every delay to the answer to our prayers, God is working in ways that we do not see or understand. The important response we need to keep making is to trust in Jesus every day, obey Him carefully and know that He will bless us as we honor Him and put Him first in our lives. Faith in Jesus means that I will trust in Him and believe that He’ll give me an answer and wisdom for every challenge I face in life.

Application

It is my faith in Jesus today that will help me to be effective for Him in everything I’m doing. My heart is to honor Him in all things and at all times. As the Lord gives me goals and dreams for the future, I know that as I keep following Him and putting my faith in Him, that He will answer my prayers and bless me with fruitfulness and great fulfillment.  

My heart is to inspire others to have great faith in Jesus and empower people with the confidence that they can walk and live in this faith that is active, relevant and meaningful for every challenge that they face in life. As we put our faith in Jesus each day and follow Him carefully, He will guide us in ways that will bless us and the people in our lives that we will influence.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for the gift of faith that You give me each day to follow You and honor You. Lord Jesus I pray that I would hear your voice today in such a way that my faith is activated to follow You and be a blessing to the people in my life. Fill me with your Spirit and help me to be bold to reach out and encourage people to believe in You and trust in You with their lives.
